11/04/2016
The IWAS Under 23 World Games will be held in Prague, Czech Republic from 29 June - 3 July 2016.
With just over 80 days to go until the opening of the IWAS Under 23 World Games in Prague, IWAS Games Technical Manager, Jan Bockweg visited the Czech capital to meet with the Emil Foundation (LOC) to discuss the ongoing preparations for the Games.
The group, including LOC President Pavel Zbozinek, visited all three sports venues to be used at the Games to discuss requirements, equipment and sports management. Meetings were also held to discuss accommodation facilities, ceremonies, logistical planning and social programmes.
LOC Vice-President, Veronika Kuchtova said of this visit, ‘All LOC representatives consider the site visit very successful and fruitful. Of course it is very demanding to organise an international sporting event and there are many challenges, however, every obstacle is a stepping-stone to progress and I am more than happy to say that a great deal was managed during the site visit and we have significantly progressed the preparations.’
IWAS Games Technical Manager commented, ‘The site visit was very successful and I was very happy to see the facilities and organisation of the Local Organising Committee. The LOC showed me around with great enthusiasm and pride and I am sure that Prague and the Emil Foundation will bring great Games this summer!’
Veronika Kuchtova added, ‘We would like to thank Jan for his kind and valuable help. His visit has had a very positive impact on the ongoing preparations.’
IWAS would like to extend its thanks to the Local Organising Committee for their thorough and comprehensive site visit – we greatly look forward to a successful Under 23 World Games!
