The sad passing of Graham Bool

21/09/2010

It is with great sadness that we heard of the sad passing of a great friend among many in the Paralympic Movement

It is with great sadness that on Friday 17 September we learnt the news our great friend and official photographer – Graham Bool had passed away. Graham had been involved within the Paralympic Movement for over two decades, as an athlete, official photographer and chair of the DSE Sports Medical Technical group.

Having begun in wheelchair basketball himself, he knew the importance of sport in his own life and was always available to support and advise others who showed an interest.
Graham was a member of the Great Britain Paralympic Team for a total of 12 years, participating in the Paralympic Games in 1972, 1976 and 1980. He retired when his children were born.
Following his retirement, Mr Bool was approached by the British Sports Association for the Disabled to be a photographer for Paralympic Sport. Having always been interested in photography, he decided to work in the field professionally.
For everyone who knew him, he was an approachable man- with a friendly face and helpful nature. He will leave a void in all of our lives, which is testament to his character.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends, especially his children – Jess and Roger.
Graham – you will be sorely missed.
