IWAS Executive Board Meeting Held in Sharjah, UAE

Following a productive meeting, the Board had the honour of meeting Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah to discuss future projects in the UAE.
The International Wheelchair & Amputee Sports Federation were welcomed to the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday 17 May for the IWAS Executive Board meeting.
Kindly hosted by IWAS Executive Board Member, Dr. Tariq Sultan Ahmed Alkadim, the meeting was held in Sharjah, home of the Al Thiqah Club for the Handicapped and host venue of the IWAS World Games 2011.
The meeting included updates on the preparations for the IWAS World Games 2017 and bids for upcoming events as well as governance, financial and membership matters.
Following an extremely productive meeting, the Board had the pleasure of meeting Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah where support of future projects, development of sport in the United Arab Emirates as well as the hosting of future IWAS events was discussed.
Upon request of the Crown Prince, the Board were also introduced to the Sharjah Centre for Astronomy & Space Sciences, a world-renowned facility linked to the Al Qasimia University.
The IWAS Executive Board also visited the Al Thiqah Club for the Handicapped in view of continuing co-operations with the Club and future ventures with IWAS. The IWAS Regional Office, also located in the Club, gave the Board Members an opportunity to hear about current projects as well as future plans to develop sports and nations in the GCC.
