Reunion of former Paralympians planned during 2012 Games

Earlier this month, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) announced they were hoping to arrange an event to bring together past Paralympians together in a reunion during the London 2012 Paralympics.
Earlier this month, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) announced they were hoping to arrange an event to bring together past Paralympians together in a reunion during the London 2012 Paralympics. With the aim for the athletes to come together, share stories and celebrate their accomplishments from previous Games while also enjoying the action in of London 2012.
Xavier Gonzalez, chief executive of the IPC, said: “The Paralympic Movement has come a long way since the first Games in 1960, with tens of thousands of athletes competing”. A total of 25,000 athletes have taken part in Paralympic Games since 1960.
In a follow up press release, the IPC announced that they had received a very positive response from former athletes who have expressed an interest in attending a Past Paralympians Reunion.
