New World and IWAS Junior Records achieved and Russia topping the final medal table
In a return to the beautiful city of Olomouc in the Czech Republic, and yet another successful junior event hosted by our friends at the Athletics Club, Olomouc we are pleased to confirm results from the 4 day event.
Topping the final medal table for the 2012 Junior Athletics Championships were Russia, who won in total 51 medals, 22 gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze.

World Record
Alexander Elmin from Russia aged 22, who set the new world record in F24 Shot Put, throwing an amazing 11.95m on the second day of the event.
IWAS Junior World Record
Also from Russia, Chermen Kobeson aged 16 who jumped 5.10 in the F37 Long jump. Alexander Khrupin aged 18 who threw 9.24m in the F33 Shot put and Svetlana Krivenok aged 14 who threw 8.14m in the F36 Shot put. And finally, from Finland Kirjonen Aleksi aged 19, who through 12.56m in the F56 Shot put.

And finally a special mention for the IWAS Junior Athletes with potential who this year were awarded to the two following worthy athletes;
Male
Was awarded to 15year F42 High Jump athlete Leon Shafer from Germany
Female
Following on from her IWAS Junior World Record in F36 Shot Put, the female award was given to Russian athlete Svetlana Krivenok.
