Trafalgar Square provides a showcase for Paralympic Sports

To recognise International Paralympic Day, London 2012 has provided the public with an opportunity to find out more about the Games next year. With a showcase of the 20 Paralympic Sports, Trafalgar Square in London will provide an exciting schedule of events.

BT Ambassador Oscar Pistorius will be taking on school children from one of London 2012’s Get Set schools, while a thrilling 50m race between 100m World Champion Marie Amelie Le Fur and Beijing 2008 gold medallist April Holmes will also be among the highlights.

Seb Coe, Chair of the London 2012 Organising Committee, said: ‘I urge everyone to come and take part in International Paralympic Day. It will be a great day for the public who want to find out more about the Paralympic Games and see for themselves why it is such an inspiring and unique event.’

The day will conclude with the official invitation by the International Paralympic Committee to athletes around the world to come and compete at the London 2012 Paralympic Games next summer.
