CPISRA were saddened to hear of the sudden death of Janice Eaglesham on Sunday. Janice was a leading light in disability sport particularly athletics' for over 30 years and a pioneer in the coaching of RaceRunning.

Janice along with her partner Ian Mirfin founded Red Star Athletics Club and through her coaching a great number of athletes have gone on to represent their country and win medals at World Championship and Paralympics.

Over the years Janice held many voluntary roles with Scottish Disability Sport and was currently Chair of this organisation. Janice was also an active member of the CPISRA RaceRunning committee and held the coaching portfolio. In this role she helped revolutionise the coaching methods of this athletics event.

Janice’s contribution to disability sport has had a positive effect on many individuals and organisations and her passing will impact many. At this time our thoughts are with her husband Ian, her family and her many friends.
