After staging the very successful IWAS World Junior Games in Olomouc, Czech Republic in 2010 it is with much delight that the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sport Federation (IWAS) announced today that a further bid from the Olomouc Athletics Club

IWAS Junior Athletics – World Championships 2012

After staging the very successful IWAS World Junior Games in Olomouc, Czech Republic in 2010 it is with much delight that the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sport Federation (IWAS) announced today that a further bid from the Olomouc Athletics Club, this time to host the IWAS Junior Athletics World Championships in 2012 has been successful.  

The Championships will take place from 17 to 22 July 2012 and this will be within the qualification period for the Paralympic Games in London.   

Announcing the award of the Championships, IWAS President Paul DePace said “It is a testament to the work of the Olomouc Athletics Club that an award has been made to them a second time round.”

In her response the IWAS Secretary General Maura Strange said “We look forward to return to the Czech Republic and in particular to Olomouc and to an opportunity for junior track and field athletes from around the world to compete at Championship level, on the international pathway provided by IWAS and leading to senior and Paralympic Games opportunities in their chosen sport”
