IWAS appoints new Sport Science and Medical Officer

Colombian Doctor, Dr Johnson Nino-Soto accepts position within IWAS
Following the resignation of Dr. Oriol Martinez who had successfully filled the role of IWAS Sport Science and Medical Officer from 1997 until 2013, the IWAS Executive Board has been working hard to attain a new person to fulfil the role.
It is with great pleasure that IWAS can announce the new appointee as Dr Johnson Nino-Soto.
A Colombian doctor Nino-Soto has trained in Sports Medicine and Human Performance, associate research of Universidad Javeriana (COL), University of Quebec (CAN) and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA, US).
He has been linked to the Paralympics since 1999 as a part of the group who made the Colombian’s Veteran’s Army League. He later became the Chair of the Colombian Paralympic Committee Medical Commission 2004-2010. He also joined the International Cycling Union as a classifier since 2007 and has been a member of the IWAS TUE Committee since 2008 and TUE Chair since 2010.
The successful posting was confirmed by IWAS President Mr Paul DePace on the 6th March when he offered his sincere gratitude to Dr Nino-Soto for accepting such an important function within IWAS.
Dr Nino-Soto has been appointed in the position from March 1st 2015 until 28th February 2019 (4 years).
