Wednesday 18th July

Today saw the start of the IWAS 2012 Junior Athletics Championships in Olomouc, Czech Republic. In a return to the beautiful city the opening event began with a parachutist flying in with the IWAS flag. Various local entertainers performed, such as Traditional Dance and Baton Twirling, and local children were again on hand to help throughout the day.

Head of the local organising committee, Pavel Vrzala welcomed IWAS and the athletes once again to the Athletics Club, Olomouc and IWAS President Mr Paul Depace thanked the organising committee.
 

Competition will begin as of the 19th July and run through to the 21st July, with almost 200 attending, including 125 athletes from Bulgaria, Ireland, I.R.Iran, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, Germany, UAE, Switzerland, Finland and of course Czech Republic.

Results and photographs from the completion will appear both on the IWAS Website and Facebook pages.
