Final site visit for bid from Russia to host IWAS World Games 2015

Sochi hope to continue with their success following the Winter Paralympic Games
DAY ONE
THE INSPECTION VISIT OF SOCHI’S COMPETITION VENUES AND ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES IN THE THRESHOLD OF FORTHCOMING IWAS WORLD GAMES 2015, CONDUCTED BY THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN AND FIRST VICE PRESIDENT OF THE RUSSIAN PARALYMPIC COMMITTEE, IWAS EB MEMBER PAVEL ROZKHOV AND IWAS TECHNICAL MANAGER JAN BOCKWEG
The Chairman of the Executive Committee, First Vice President of the Russian Paralympic Committee Pavel Rozhkov arrived in Sochi together with the official representative of the Internatational Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation, Mr. Jan Bockweg, for preliminary inspection of competition venues and accommodation facilities in the eve of forthcoming IWAS World Games 2015. During their visit Pavel Rozkhov and Jan Bockweg met with Konstantin Efimov, manager of C , the Chairman of the South regional sporting center of the Russian Ministry of Sport “ Ug Sporta” Mikhail Dremov, and the official representative of Sochi public administration to discuss the possibility of hosting IWAS Games 2015 in Sochi.
During the meeting, various details concerning the organization of forthcoming Games, readiness of sporting venues, accommodation facilities and other objects of info structure were discussed. The issues related to special conditions for organizing competitions for persons with disabilities were revived and discussed in great details.
At the end of the meeting, the participants inspected various sporting facilities, such as tennis, fencing, and athletics in both of sporting centers. Participants also inspected the hotel “ Aivazovskiy” where during the Winter XI Paralympic Games in Sochi, the Paralympic athletes were hosted, the barrier free environment of the hotel would be a perfect location for hosting official representatives of IWAS, holding IWAS General Assembly as well as meeting International Fencing Federation which will take place during IWAS World Games 2015. Among other objects inspected were Paralympic Village, Sea Cluster and other places of athlete’s accommodations.
DAY TWO
THE SECOND DAY OF THE INSPECTION VISIT OF SOCHI’S VENUES FOR SWIMMING COMPETITIONS BY THE FIRST VICE PRESIDENT OF THE RUSSIAN PARALYMPIC COMMITTEE PAVEL ROZHKOV AND THE TECHNICAL MANAGER OF IWAS JAN BOCKWEG
During the second day of the inspection visit of competition venues and accommodations facilities in Sochi, in the eve of the forthcoming 2015 IWAS World Games, the first Vice President of the Russian Paralympic Committee, Chairman of the Executive Committee and member of IWAS Executive Committee, Pavel Rozkhov together with official IWAS representative, Technical Manager Jan Bockweg inspected Gorky Gorod at the Krasnaya Polyana, the possible site of the swimming competition.
Next Pavel Rozhkov and Jan Bockwig inspected the complex "Grand Hotel Polyana", where the outdoor swimming pool of 50 meters and an indoor swimming pool of 25 meters will make it possible to carry out the swimming competitions in accordance with the rules and requirements of the International Paralympic Committee. This complex is located in the protected areas of the Sochi National Park, among the peaks of the Caucasus Mountains, in the heart of Krasnaya Polyana.
DAY THREE
THE THIRD DAY OF THE INSPECTION VISIT OF SOCHI’S SPORTING FACILITY “ YUZHNOE VZMORIE” BY THE FIRST VICE PRESIDENT OF THE RUSSIAN PARALYMPIC COMMITTEE PAVEL ROZHKOV AND THE TECHNICAL MANAGER OF IWAS JAN BOCKWEG
During the third day of the inspection visit of competition venues and accommodations facilities in Sochi, in the eve of the forthcoming 2015 IWAS World Games, the first Vice President of the Russian Paralympic Committee, Chairman of the Executive Committee and member of IWAS Executive Committee, Pavel Rozkhov together with official IWAS representative, Technical Manager Jan Bockweg inspected the sporting facility “Yuzhnoe vzmorie”
This sporting facility could host the table tennis and fencing competitions as well as be place for accommodation of numerous Paralympic athletes. The complex facilities also allow the holding of the General IWAS Assembly as well the Sport Assembly of Wheelchair Fencing which will take place during the Games; the “Yuzhnoe vzmorie” in the center of Adler can be a wonderful choice for holding such events.
Final annoucement of the IWAS World Games 2015 and its successful bid will be made before the end of September 2014. Provisional dates for the competition are 26th September to 2nd October.
