The 2025 World Abilitysport Beach Games, hosted by organisers, the National Paralympic Committee of Türkiye, will feature World Para Powerlifting’s first outdoor World Cup in the city of Mersin, Türkiye.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the city’s 316km of Mediterranean coastline, Mersin Kultur Park will host athletes at the inaugural World Abilitysport Beach Games for aquatic, beach and open-air sports from 18 to 25 October 2025.

Head of World Para Powerlifting, Jorge Moreno said, “We are excited to see World Para Powerlifting make history as part of the first-ever Beach Games. Our heartfelt thanks to the Local Organising Committee and World Abilitysport for their dedication to inclusivity and excellence. Centrally located near the city’s marina, the competition will be held in the cultural hub of Mersin in an amphitheatre style venue designed to attract the people of Mersin to engage with the sport.
World Abilitysport CEO, Charmaine Hooper said, “This historical event will bring the sport to the people inviting members of the public to engage with the sport in ways a sports hall or conferencing space cannot. We can’t wait to see the sport capture the imaginations of the people of Mersin and to provide an unforgettable muscle-beach style stage for the athletes to compete.”

NPC Türkiye and Local Organising President, Murat Aksu said, “We are honoured to see Mersin take centre stage for this historic moment in Para sport. NPC Türkiye are proud to support this ground-breaking event, which will not only showcase the incredible strength and determination of the athletes but also inspire future generations. We look forward to welcoming the world to Mersin for an unforgettable celebration of inclusivity and excellence.”
