Sharjah has started to see the arrival of many athletes and officials as the Althiqah Club in the U.A.E put in their final preparations for the hosting of the IWAS World Games.

Sharjah has started to see the arrival of many athletes and officials as the Althiqah Club in the U.A.E put in their final preparations for the hosting of the IWAS World Games.

The Althiqah club which boasts an impressive new eight lane athletics track and refurbished sports hall will see athletes competing in track, field and powerlifting events.

As part of the IWAS Games programme Table Tennis and Swimming will be taking place at the American University of Sharjah and Shooting in the new modern state of the art shooting facility based at the adies club in Sharjah.

 The IWAS World Games have 1000 delegates in attendance from forty nine participating countries.  There has been a tremendous programme of events created to showcase the many talents our athletes bring to competition. The start of the games officially begins after the opening ceremony on the 1st December which is being co-celebrated with the forty years of independence in the UAE.
